Camping - There are 9 forestry recreation camp sites located in the Elk Valley, some being located near rivers, streams, and lakes. Each of these sites contains pit toilets, fire pits, and picnic tables. Distances range from 5.7 km away from town to 70 km away. There are four areas within the Elk Lakes vicinity where camping is permitted. Some of these sites accommodate pit toilets, fire pits, tent pads, and food caches. Note: CAMPING AND FIRES ONLY IN DESIGNATED SITES within the park. By following the practices of minimum impact use, users will help protect the Wilderness, which offers recreationists an opportunity for solitude.
