When winter blows into the BC Rockies, Elkford becomes a haven for Nordic skiers. With a base elevation of 1300m (4500 ft), the timbered valley is ideal cross country skiing conditions. The snow is generally dry, and the air temperature is usually between -5 and -15 degrees Celcius throughout the winter.
